How to read the index
The index says how a company is doing compared with similar companies the same year. It is not a grade on a fixed scale.
The 0–100 score
The score is a weighted average of percentiles for profitability, solidity, liquidity, growth and consistency. 50 means middle of the pack among the comparable companies.
“Better than X%”
Under every score and key figure it says what share of the peer group the company beats. 80% means the figure is better than at four in five.
Who it is compared with
Companies in the same sector, size tier and fiscal year. If the group is too small, the whole sector is used, and the page says so.
Data completeness
If a key figure is missing it is left out instead of counting as zero. Data completeness shows how much of the weight had data.
What the index is not
It is not a credit rating, not a recommendation and not a verdict on the company. A low score can have good explanations, such as investment or start-up.
Which year
Each figure is for one fiscal year, shown next to it. Accounts arrive through the year after the 31 July deadline.
Marks and flags
Flags such as “accounts missing” or “disputed” are information. They do not change the score.
