Utlendingsdirektoratet (UDI) har besluttet at det skal etableres asylmottak i Lødingen kommune. Lødingen kommune har over flere år vært en ROBEK-kommune og jobber med å få kontroll over økonomien. De har derfor bedt om å ikke få en etablering i kommunen denne gangen, da de ikke har økonomisk handlingsrom til å håndtere dette.
